Ekamra College emerged champions in the Utkal University Inter-College Cricket Tournament (Zone-V), outplaying formidable BJB Autonomous College in the all-Bhubaneswar final by five wickets at Udayanath College ground, Adaspur (Cuttack) today.
More than 20 colleges participated in the Zone-IV tournament. Daitari Singh, Principal, Udayanath College of Science & Technoloty handed over the trophy at the valedictory function. Udayanath College PET Aradhya Pradhan and Ekamra College Sport In-charge Manoj Kumar Mohapatra were present on the occasion.
BRIEF SCORE (Final): BJB College 139/10 in 29.4 overs (Biswajit Mallick 52; Rakesh Kumar Barik, Lalit Mohan Ojha each 3 wkts, Zia-ul Khan 2 wkts) Ekamra College 140/5 in 26.5 overs (Sanat Tripathy 38 n.o, Biswajit Das 35; Rupesh Kumar, Rajat Das, Krishneya Mohapatra each 1 wkt) by 5 wkts.
